Joining & Creating Communities (DAOs)
OmniSocial makes it easy for any user to join or create decentralized communities—DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations)—without needing to know how to code or write smart contracts.
🔑 What is a DAO on OmniSocial?
A DAO is a smart-contract-powered community where decisions are made through on-chain proposals and voting. Think of it as a self-governing club, company, or collective with transparent rules and actions.
DAOs on OmniSocial are:
Gasless to join
Visible through the Explorer
Governed via reputation and wallet voting
Compatible with OMNI token and PersonaNFTs
✅ Joining a DAO (as a member)
Joining a DAO is free and takes just a few clicks.
Visit the DAOs page or a DAO’s profile.
Click “Join DAO” – your wallet will be registered as a member.
You’ll now see:
Proposals (new, active, passed)
Member-only posts or gated discussions
Your voting power (based on your reputation or OMNI holdings, depending on the DAO)
Tip: Some DAOs may have requirements (e.g., minimum reputation or a token gate). If so, the join button will show the criteria you need to meet.
🗳️ Voting on Proposals
DAOs operate through proposals—these can be anything from funding a project to banning spam accounts or changing community rules.
To vote:
Open the DAO page and click on any active proposal.
Review the details (title, description, logic, voting rules).
Click your choice:
👍 Yes / Approve
👎 No / Reject
Confirm the vote via your wallet.
Votes are recorded on-chain, and your reputation (or tokens) may influence your weight depending on the DAO’s settings.
🧱 Creating a New DAO
Want to launch your own community? You can create a DAO in minutes:
Go to the “Create DAO” section.
Enter:
DAO Name (e.g.,
GreenBuilders
)Description and mission

Token-weighted
Optional: Minimum rep/tokens to join
Confirm the creation in your wallet.
Your DAO is now live with:
A unique DAO page
Proposal system
